December 2nd
...See more Greetings everyone! We invite you to take part in the Gratitude Circle, a mindful activity designed to foster appreciation and strengthen connections within our community. This is a simple yet meaningful way to acknowledge and celebrate the positive impact others have made in our lives. By sharing gratitude and appreciation, we create a supportive and uplifting environment for all. We encourage everyone to participate and spread kindness by taking a moment to express what you’re thankful for. Let’s come together and make this space one of positivity and connection! 1. Take a few moments to quiet your mind and reflect on the people in this community who have made a positive impact on you. It could be through their kind words, helpful Suggestions, or thoughtful actions. 2.  In this thread, post a short message of gratitude. Tag the person you're appreciating and explain what you’re thankful for. It could be something they’ve done recently or something they've always done that made a difference. 3. When you share your appreciation, make sure to tag a different person each time you post. This ensures that everyone has the chance to feel valued. 4.  After posting, take a moment to breathe deeply and send positive thoughts or intentions to the person you just thanked. ------------------------- Current taglist as of November 17,  2024 To add or remove yourself from the taglist please click  [https://www.7cups.com/forum/mindfulness/Announcements_2413/MindfulnessAutomatedTaglist_320002/?post=3438021]here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/mindfulness/Announcements_2413/MindfulnessAutomatedTaglist_320002/?post=3438021] @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @adventurousCat7477 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @cal1860 @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah @Clio9876 @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @imprettysleepy @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Linux2022 @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @MindfulJourney22 @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @willingBranch634 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim
World Mental Health Day: Embracing Mindfulness
by ASilentObserver
Last post
October 15th
...See more Hello, community,  I hope you are all taking it easy this week. As we all know World Mental Health Day is observed annually on October 10th. It is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about mental health issues and challenges and promoting well-being. When it comes to promoting well-being, mindfulness is one of the powerful practices to attain it. Today I want us to explore this topic and how it can significantly enhance our mental health.  So what is mindfulness?  It is the practice of being fully present in the moment, without any judgment. It includes paying attention to our thoughts, feelings, and sensations without getting caught up in them. In today's busy world, mindfulness is the key to taking care of our well-being. Some of the benefits of practicing mindfulness are:  * It helps to reduce stress by calming the mind and body. It helps to lower cortisol levels, a hormone associated with stress. * When we are focused on the present moment, mindfulness can help to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. * It helps individuals better understand and manage their emotions, leading to greater emotional resilience. * Regular practice of mindfulness can improve sleep quality by reducing racing thoughts and promoting relaxation. * Also helps individuals become more aware of their thoughts and behaviors, leading to greater self-understanding. By practicing mindfulness in our daily lives, we can improve our mental health and overall well-being. So let's commit to making mindfulness a priority in our daily lives and foster a culture of taking care of ourselves and being compassionate to ourselves and each other. How do you practice mindfulness in daily life? Share your thoughts and tips in the comments below.

Healing loneliness with mindfulness

...See more Check in for December 9th to December 11th 2024 How do we heal ourselves when we are lonely. People can be alone and not feel lonely. More people are dealing with loneliness than ever before.  Being alone vs being lonely: You can be surrounded with friends or family and still feel loneliness. Loneliness is more about  the amount of time you spend with people you love or like but not spending a lot of time with them. Truth is we need to be around people, we need to share our lives with others. When we are around people is builds our healthy life.  Letting go of loneliness: Reconnect with yourself  You can do this by either doing a breathing exercise or meditation. This will relax your mind from spinning around with things and help you reconnect to who you actually are. Begin loving who you really are: Do you love the person you are? If you shook you head no then you need to look deep down into your soul and find out why. Then we need to fix the negatives to become positive and live a happy life. A good exercise for this is journal writing, write down what you do not like and find ways to fix it so your happy.  Being alone vs being around people: Sometimes when we are alone we think of others and wish they wee there to keep us company. Sometimes when your out with friends you may wish you stayed home for some reason.  What steps can we take to have more or less time around others? How to do reconnect with yourself ?  Self care for loneliness:  ✅ To add yourself to this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please add me. ❌ To remove yourself from this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please remove me. @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah  @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim

Finding comfort through grief using mindfulness

...See more Check In for : December 2nd to December 4th 2024 Last week I had to put our family fur baby of 12 years down because she was having problems walking, her hips were giving out . Some know I own a pit bull named harley davidson, she is our world and it was too much seeing her in pain. Here is the last picture of her waiting at the vet.  How do we find comfort through grief: Grief is associated with losing a loved one, relatives, friends and pets. It can also mean losing a job we were doing for years or a long marriage or relationship dating someone. Grief is a mixture of a lot of feelings and emotions.  The path of grief is a personal journey we all go through it some hit ourselves more than others, it is how to deal with it, we are all different in handling things. There are times when grief can come back after experiencing it first time around. The following is how to handle grief when we are experiencing it . Common ways grief may show up: Emotional rollercoaster: The range of emotions we face are anger, sadness, guilt, confusion and even relief. No one is the same how we handle these emotions may be different person to person. Physical symptoms: Grief can also effect our physical well being. It can bring fatigue making us want to sleep our worries away. It can also hinder our daily activities to where we do not want to do anything, headaches and stomach aches. Social withdrawal: Grief can make us not want to be around anyone during social functions. It also can make it hard to talk about to others, so we distance ourselves. What are some ways you handle grief? What emotions are you feeling when dealing with it? There are a lot more different ways grief affects us it is how we manage to handle them to feel a little better. ✅ To add yourself to this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please add me. ❌ To remove yourself from this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please remove me. @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah  @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim

...See more Check In for November 11th to November 13th 2024 Happy Veterans Day to those who celebrate this day and to those who have served in our Armed Forces  or with children in the Armed Forces we thank you for your service. This week's forum post is about judgement and beliefs in Mindfulness. Judgment is defined as the act or instance of judging. The ability to judge, make your own decision and form of an opinion objectively.  A belief is defined as to have trust, faith and confidence in someone.  We as humans are active thinkers constantly thinking about things everyday. It is like the expression " MY mind is all over the place" is because we are not just thinking of one thing, Our minds may have several things floating around. When someone in our life does wrong by us there are many things we begin to think about "why they did or said something"  " Why did they have to hurt me" "what did I do wrong for them to be rude or disrespectful to me". This is known as over thinking because we begin to have things floating around our mind of what happened. The following is a handout of non judgmental mindfulness: https://tinyurl.com/ajv9n748 In the above caption which one have you tried and does it help you? ✅ To add yourself to this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please add me. ❌ To remove yourself from this taglist, press the Post to Thread button below and write the exact words Please remove me. @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah  @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim

Discussion Mindfulness Week 48/24

...See more This is a brief summary of the 2 discussions we had on Monday and Thursday this week (week 48/24).  Topics:          Thriving on our own without feeling lonely                     Emotional stability Thriving on our own without feeling lonely Loneliness is not the same as being alone. You can feel lonely amongst people if you cannot connect to them but be happy being alone. Unlike being alone, loneliness [https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/in-flux/201410/the-importance-of-being-alone?msockid=058685c75112609838099742507e619b]often implies that you are looking for someone or something that you feel you need in order to feel secure and happy. Being alone [https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/talking-emotion/202004/being-alone-vs-being-lonely?msockid=058685c75112609838099742507e619b] is a chance for you to refocus on yourself, on your needs, on what makes you feel good. Developing certain routines and self-care techniques can help us to thrive and be happy alone in our lives without feeling lonely. What could we do long-term to manage feelings of loneliness? What kind of strategies can help us to thrive in life? Example: Practising relaxation technique.  Emotional stability Emotional stability, or the capacity to control and regulate one's emotions in a healthy way, is a critical component of total mental health. Life happens, and your emotions are the expression of what is happening to you. Emotions are a way our body talks to us. They communicate our needs and what’s important to us so it is important that we become aware of them. Mood tracking can be useful for a number of different reasons such as  detecting triggers that lead to mood swings. Other useful ways are  * Mood tracker apps * Wearable mood trackers  * Journaling * Daily mood check-ins Mindfulness practices like deep breathing exercises and meditation help with emotional stability [https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=116fec842dafd9ec342a06225de8b39ce74cd584f5ebba717ba398b9f5d56056JmltdHM9MTczMjc1MjAwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=058685c7-5112-6098-3809-9742507e619b&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cubWF5b2NsaW5pYy5vcmcvdGVzdHMtcHJvY2VkdXJlcy9tZWRpdGF0aW9uL2luLWRlcHRoL21lZGl0YXRpb24vYXJ0LTIwMDQ1ODU4&ntb=1]by providing a sense of calm, peace, and balance. How do you care for yourself [https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/in-flux/201803/5-ways-take-care-yourself-emotionally?msockid=058685c75112609838099742507e619b] when you are hurting? How do you find balance in stressful situations?

The Mindfulness Center welcomes you to a place where it is okay to just be, and not worry about 100 things. You can observe nature or your own room, follow your breath going in and out, or be aware of your feet touching the sidewalk as you head home. It is all mindfulness.

There are no hard and fast rules on how to be mindful, and you do not have to do anything a certain way. There are guidelines to help us stay on the path of mindfulness, like in the Daily Checkins, where team members share insights and tips about mindfulness. You can join in the discussions there, or in any of the forum threads.

You will also find videos in the resource center that talk about what is mindfulness and guide us on a journey to having an actual experience right now of what it feels like to be free of our “thought train”, as we let ourselves go and relax a bit. If all of this sounds good, join us for hosted sessions in which you can discuss and experience mindfulness first hand.
