What is Advent?

In Church, Advent is the start of the year.

Beginning on November 29, we await God’s light coming into the world in Jesus, as we prepare for Christmas.

Outdoor Fireside Gatherings

We gather at 6pm on the first three Wednesdays in Advent around a fire pit in the church parking lot, for a time of togetherness. We face the shadows of December while drawing near to warmth and light. These informal gatherings will include around 20 minutes of scripture, poetry, music, and reflection, and as a much time for fellowship as those gathered would like.

All participants must sign in, wear a mask, and maintain social distance. Participants should bring warm clothes – the fire pit helps, but it is winter! If weather prevents us from physically gathering, we will gather on Zoom.

Sunday Advent Worship

We gather online for Advent worship for four Sundays, starting November 29 with an offering of special music to prepare for the season. Each Sunday, one of our households will light a traveling advent wreath, to remind us of God’s gifts of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.
