What To Expect

We invite ALL persons to join us in worship, celebrating the Sacraments, accompanying one another on the spiritual journey, sharing our gifts, and working together to fulfill the mission of Lyonsville church.

Ours is a non-creedal church; there is no statement of beliefs to which people must agree in order to be a member.  We encourage people to learn, ask questions, and reflect on their own beliefs in the light of the scriptures, reason, tradition, and human experience.

Communion. Our church practices open Communion — we offer Communion to all who  wish to know the presence of Christ and to share in the community of God’s people.  Even young children are invited to share in Communion if their parents believe they have some understanding of the special nature and meaning of Communion.  Communion is usually celebrated on the first Sunday of each month, on special Christian holidays, and with the ill and shut-ins.

Praising God Through Music. Everyone is welcome to join in the joy and fellowship of offering praise to God through music. Speak to our Pastor or Director of Music to learn about our choir and other musical opportunities.

Worship and Church School. We have one worship service on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m.  It usually lasts about one hour or perhaps one hour and 15 minutes on some Sundays.  We have a church school for children up through middle school age during the school year (September through May).  Children usually begin in worship for the first 15-20 minutes, then are dismissed to their church school classes.  The first Sunday of each month is usually a Communion Sunday when there are no church school classes — children are welcome to remain in worship with their families on those days.
