Below is a list of some upcoming events that we will be hosting or participating in. We would love to have you join us!
For details about any of these events, contact the church office.
Our Christmas Pageant will be December 22. A brunch will follow. If you would like to bring something to share, please let Nayna Byers know.
End 68 Hours of Hunger – In December, we will be collecting the following food items for End 68 Hours of Hunger program. End 68 Hours of Hunger is a nationwide organization, with a local chapter that is based in the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange. They are currently partnering with Forest Road Elementary School to provide packs of food for kids to take home – mostly kids who would struggle to find a meal between their Friday school lunch and Monday breakfast. They are in need of: peanut butter, jelly, mayonnaise, (no extra large sizes or glass containers please), canned tuna, canned chicken and real fruit juice-boxes (individual size). Please bring your donation to the church during the month of December. Thank you.
We need all hands on deck! Please join us at 9am on Saturday, January 11 for a joint workday with Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church to switch worship spaces. We’ll begin with a brief blessing of the sanctuary space as we acknowledge we are no longer using that space for worship. We will be joined by Rev. Kim Wood from the Fox Valley Association. Then we will work with Westminster to move items and prepare the chapel space for worship. There will be projects that people with all abilities can help with. Many hands make light work, and we anticipate this will also be a fun time of fellowship. If you have questions please contact Judy Birmingham or Pastor Sean.
Do you want to join the Lyonsville Prayer Chain? Want to ask for prayers? Email Nayna Byers, Chair of Pastoral Care. Prayer Chain requests can also be made through the office.
Pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House
We are collecting pop tabs to take to the Ronald McDonald House. We will have a collection container located in the fellowship hall. If you have any questions please see Cindi Fiandaca.
Box Tops for Education
We are also collecting Box Tops for Education to give to Byrne School. Collecting Box Tops is an easy way for schools to earn cash. It’s easy to find Box Tops (a list will be by the collection box). In fact, you may have some in your home right now. All you have to do is clip the Box Tops from your favorite products and put them in the collection container located in the fellowship hall. If you have any questions please see a member of the Mission Board.
