Below is a list of some upcoming events that we will be hosting or participating in. We would love to have you join us!
For details about any of these events, contact the church office.
In June we are collecting peanut butter and jelly for the Lyonsville food pantry. If you would like to donate, please bring your items and put them in the donation box on the landing.
Summer is here and the choir is taking a well-deserved break! Anyone who wishes to provide some summer music should contact Mike Molloy to book a date. Do your grandkids take piano lessons? Does your Uncle Frank play the accordion? Is your sister an opera singer? Sign ’em up! All are welcome who wish to make a joyful noise!!
Summer Worship Plans:
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day (so starting June 2), worship will be held in the West Fellowship Hall as we have been doing for the last few years. We will gather for worship at 10:00am.
Pastor Sean will be attending the UCC General Synod in Milwaukee from June 20-26, as part of our participation in the UCC Pension Boards Next Generation Leadership Initiative. During that time please direct pastoral care needs to the office. After hours needs can be directed to Nayna Byers or Doug Adams. On June 23, while Sean is away, Lyonsville will not hold a worship service. We encourage you to visit Burr Ridge UCC or Highlands Presbyterian Church, which both have services at 10am. This is a good way to deepen our relationships with those congregations.
PIZZA AND GAME NIGHT
On Friday, June 23rd at 6:00 we will get together for pizza and game night. We will take up a free will offering and the donations will be sent to Feed My Starving Children. We hope you can all attend for a time of fun and fellowship. Bring your friends!
Next discernment meeting- Sunday, July 14 at 11am. All members are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
Do you want to join the Lyonsville Prayer Chain? Want to ask for prayers? Email Nayna Byers, Chair of Pastoral Care. Prayer Chain requests can also be made through the office.
Pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House
We are collecting pop tabs to take to the Ronald McDonald House. We will have a collection container located in the fellowship hall. If you have any questions please see Cindi Fiandaca.
Box Tops for Education
We are also collecting Box Tops for Education to give to Byrne School. Collecting Box Tops is an easy way for schools to earn cash. It’s easy to find Box Tops (a list will be by the collection box). In fact, you may have some in your home right now. All you have to do is clip the Box Tops from your favorite products and put them in the collection container located in the fellowship hall. If you have any questions please see a member of the Mission Board.
CHURCH WOMEN UNITED
