I'm totally confused on what things might mean (Adult Protective Social worker and PCW)

Disneywoman Friday

So I'm looking into things and I'm getting totally bamboozled with words I don't understand.  I might understand the words but I don't know what that actually means.   Like what is an Adult Protective Service Worker suppose to do?

This is what it says on the provincial Development services site for (APSWs)

  • learn about community supports and ministry-funded services.
  • identify your strengths and needs.
  • stay informed about supports and direct you to the ones you need.
  • develop problem-solving and life skills, like budgeting and learning to use public transportation.

I don't need any help with how to use public transportation I been doing that for years on my own or with my Mom.

On another website I'm looking into different things and in a Particpation House thing..  something I could look into is Personal Centered Planning. (PCP) and I have no idea what that means in the first place.

I do have ideas of potential goals for me to use for PCP.

1.  volunteer more

2. Living skills (have minor goals here)

3. Theaparist.

@Disneywoman

It sounds like you are doing all the right things. Can you ask them, or find out the next step somehow?

I know how frustrating this must be, hopefully others will reply with some helpful ideas.

@Disneywoman I hope they are helpful for you. I hope you get a good one who is not there just to collect a pay check.
