Perimenopause

tbmicban12 April 14th, 2021

I'm 51 does anyone feel like they're losing their mind?. Or feel like they don't like the changes that your body has taken?

I am 54. I feel like there are days that I am going to bleed to death. Will it ever stop? I have increased my anti depressant because anxiety and sleeplessness is bad. I don’t have hot flashes jus these symptoms. I just wonder if it ever gets better or is this what I am looking at for the rest of my life. Never know what my day is going to be like.

@Intuitivefriend1097 I'm sorry your suffering and I get it I suffered unbelievably during perimenopause. No fun at all, but I got past most of it with my Dr.s help. I just wanted you to know it does improve. I think the biggest problem is getting the support we need during this huge transition. I hope my post was helpful to you in some way. Best, ABB💜

@tbmicban12 I understand because I did lose my way during perimenopause. I struggled terribly. My cycle finally stopped when I was 55 . But up to that point I felt like a crazy person plus I had trauma during this time frame. I hated my body changes to be honest. But don't lose hope things settled down and I am better. Not perfect but better. I got into therapy and meds for the trauma and it helped with all I was going through. My Dr was a big help. There's alot of things to help with symptoms you just have to ask for help. Best of luck and I hope my post helped you in some way. ABB 💜

Oh gosh yes! I had a mini melt down last week in work, it had been building up for a few weeks or even months. Glad it's happened, I can admit that I was struggling and seeing my doctor tomorrow to get some help. It does make a difference to my sanity knowing its just not me experiencing these symptoms.

I’m on my third doctor. Most don’t seem to care and just want to throw antidepressants at you without even testing your hormones. I finally found one who listens and seems to care.

Yes, for the first few months I thought I was going crazy. I started therapy and taking estrogen patch. The estrogen patch has helped quite a bit. I don’t have anxiety anymore like I did for several months, but my hormones still fluctuate, and when they do, the patch doesn’t help. I get low money ds and I’m irritable. I cry and I don’t know why. It’s scary. I’m trying to decide if I need antidepressants. I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago, so I don’t Know if I’m peri or post. The doctor thinks peri because my hormones are still fluctuating. I hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel because I feel like I’ve lost a part of myself.

Im 51 as well and i can tell you that i feel like i’ve lost my mind too! My Dr says it is ‘normal’ but i dont think so….its the hot flashes—they make you crazy. Im hopeful to find others here going through same as its a lonely island at times.

50, went through menopause at 46 I think I started peri menopause early 40s I wish I'd known more. I'm convinced anxiety is partly menopause.

I can cope with most of the physical stuff, although it would be great to have more energy and not feel like every joint is on fire, but the mental stuff... I had no idea!

I suffer from various menopause symptoms. Except for mood swings, I experience insomnia, hot flashes, and dryness. By the way, Premarin Cream helps with itching and dryness so take note. I also take magnesium to sleep better. What natural remedies are effective for hot flashes? It annoys me so much...
