Day 2: 25 Days of Gratitude, Self-Care and Personal Growth

amiablePeace77 December 2nd

Effective Gratitude Journaling

When we're feeling overburdened or just have a lot going on inside, life can be difficult, and we might feel that we’re not going anywhere; there is nothing good for us.  Gratitude journaling is a powerful tool to direct our focus on the good things in life. Starting small, even a few minutes of journaling per day with just 3 prompts can make a big difference in how we think and feel.

Write down (or type) the things you are grateful for on a daily basis. You can use a journal, diary, your computer (use journaling option in 7cups), an email to yourself or just a piece of paper.

Consider giving these prompts a try:

  1. What good thing happened today for me?

  2. What good news did I hear?

  3. What’s something that inspired or touched you recently?

  4. What about today has been better than yesterday?

  5. What am I grateful for having learned recently?

  6. What made me smile today?

  7. What has improved in my life recently?

  8. What does my body allow me to do that I am grateful for?

  9. What friends do I have that I am grateful for?

The basic practice is straightforward, and you can aim at in-depth entries versus quantity of entries.

Evenings are great to reflect back on our day and think about what we’re happy with and what we want to do differently in the future.

Gratitude is like most desirable traits and qualities in that it is usually not enough to simply decide to be grateful—we must regularly and actively practice it to cement its place in our lives.

What are you grateful for today?

Day 2 I had a tough but necessary procedure today but I learnt something I wasn't aware of so I get to reflect on that now and grow from it.

@glowingPresence86

I hope you are feeling okay again. Managing tough things can help us to grow if we take the time to reflect on them like you do 👍

What are you grateful for today? People. I spend a lot of time alone. I've been trying to deal with grief and depression. I'm really grateful when someone tags me for some silliness. It might not sound like much but it makes a difference in my world

Journalling has helped me in the past. It is a way to get my thoughts and beliefs out on paper so they are not going back and forth in my mind

@soulsings

I can very much relate to what you say soul. When I write things down my mind just feels lighter and can also focus on present tasks.
