My friend called me fat, should I still be her friend

Zeroseventeen017 December 3rd

Hello again fellow 7 cup users it's me zero again,

Today I was feeling really low about myself, namely about my weight.

I was wearing a shirt black dress which I quite liked, and had bought recently.

I had asked my friend if I looked good in it she had told me I looked cute, then I asked her if the dress made me look fat or if it was obvious at all I had gained or lost weight,.

She replied with "well I mean you look better than last year" and I asked her what she meant by that, she in turn replied " well it's just that last you were more... Put together, wider, rounder" she had said that trying to go around the one word I new she was going to say so instead I said it... Because it's not supposed to hurt as much when I say it so I thought.

I said " you mean fat.... " and she awkwardly looks away and says "yea but like no Offense" I just told her it was ok because I'm the type of person who hates conflict but I gotta say that hurt quite a lot, I never considered myself fat but maybe I am. I am 17 years old, 5'4, and I weigh 167 but most of that being muscle mass and I come from an obesse family, I work out all the time but I just can't seem to run off the weight... Maybe I am fat.

@Zeroseventeen017

while we may have hurt your feelings ... she was trying to not say it or dance around it.

If you are comfortable in yourself it should not matter. enjoy the dress you bought and like.

I will also say a real friend can tell you things that may sting or hurt.... and it does not mean end of the friendship.  Fake friends are the ones who only say what you want to hear and never say anything that may hard to hear. i had friends I would rather have those who tell me outright then pretend something.

What do you mean while we may have hurt your feeling...

I don't know you, and I do agree I would feather have friends who tell me the truth but all my friends know I have a problem at my work place with people calling me fat, I have been called fat by many many people, I have told them many times how much it hurts but she still did it and she does it often it wasn't just like a one time slip up he has done it many many times, I don't know if that is a real friend, or if that is someone pretending.

The only times I ever see this girl is when she is insulting me about something, I am now on a weight loss journey through my doctor and been diagnosed with an eating disorder.
